Rosalie Fransen on the Hudson Valley’s first green community investment fund

Rosalie Fransen, director of Mid-Hudson Energy Transition’s HELP Fund, shares how the fund is addressing the intersecting crises of housing displacement, health inequities, and climate vulnerability by financing energy-efficient upgrades for low-income families. Gentrification and rising energy costs have disproportionately burdened marginalized households, says Franse. “What we wanted to do with the HELP Fund was to address this issue from the side of financing, and break down some of the financial and systemic barriers that keep low-income families from accessing energy-efficient housing.”
