About this Role

As an Investment Manager in the renewable energy sector, you will play a pivotal role in deal origination and transaction management. You will be responsible for structuring deals, conducting business and financial diligence, arranging debt and equity financing, and performing market analysis. You will work closely with the headquarter-based investment development team to close transactions and manage the reporting of acquired companies, with the potential to oversee the sell-down of projects and companies within the renewable sector. This role involves assisting in the origination of a pipeline of renewable energy projects and screening investment opportunities. You will maintain an understanding of market trends and opportunities in India, Southeast Asia, and Japan’s onshore renewables market. Your work will support the due diligence, financial modeling, and risk analysis required for structuring acquisitions and financing transactions. An integral part of the team, you will engage in commercial, legal, and financial aspects of deal structuring, reviewing, and negotiating term sheets and contracts. You will ensure the timely completion of legal documentation and financial close in cooperation with internal and external counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in originating a pipeline of renewable energy projects and screening investment opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date market understanding and support strategy reviews.
  • Lead analysis on opening new markets for Blueleaf Energy in East and Southeast Asia.
  • Support necessary due diligence, financial modeling, and risk analysis for transaction structuring.
  • Engage in commercial, legal, and financial aspects of deal structuring.
  • Prepare internal approval papers, including relevant opportunity analysis for investment decisions.
  • Develop project teaser and information memoranda for debt and equity investors.
  • Present deal pipeline and transaction details to Blueleaf Energy leadership for review and approval.
  • Ensure appropriate legal documentation conclusion in line with approvals.

Requirements

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Infrastructure Funds Management.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for conducting financial analysis and valuation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams).
  • Knowledge of securities and M&A regulations.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and ambitious personality with autonomous work capability.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
