Civic tech. Spain-based civic campaigning online platform Movements raised €390,000 ($454,000) in pre-seed financing from angel investors.
Climate adaptation. Satellites on Fire landed $2.7 million in a seed round from Mexico-based Dalus Capital, Draper Associates, VitaminC and Draper Cygnus VC for early wildfire detection in the US… New York-based Superorganism invested in Supercool which develops a microbe-based method for cloud seeding… French asset manager Tikehau Capital teamed up with Japan’s Amova Asset Management to launch Tikehau Amova Investment Management in Singapore to back decarbonization solutions.
Clean mobility. California-based micromobility startup Also raised $200 million in a Series C round led by Greenoaks Capital, with participation from DoorDash and others.
Clean energy. Oikocredit, the Good Energies Foundation, and others invested $6.3 million in the first close of Charm Impact’s fund for early-stage clean energy startups… Boston-based ArcLight closed its eighth Infrastructure Partners Fund at $3.9 billion… TotalEnergies and the UAE state-owned clean power company Masdar merged their Asia renewable energy platforms in a $2.2 billion joint venture… Blackstone-backed QTS Data Centers launched a $4.6 billion, ten-year green bond to support the construction of a large-scale data center in Georgia… Energy Capital Partners agreed to acquire Salt Lake City-based EnergySolutions, a provider of nuclear waste management services… Durham-based battery energy storage company FlexGen Power Systems acquired Clean Energy Services to boost energy storage deployment.
Digitization. Morocco-based ZSystems secured $1.7 million in a seed round led by Azur Innovation to digitize supply chains.
Healthcare. Singapore-based Injewelme landed funding from Temasek Trust and UK-based family office Richardson Family to detect climate-related health risks… The Autism Impact Fund raised $60 million in the first close of its second fund from Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, and other family offices and individuals.
Institutional backing. Dutch pension fund ABP and New York-based CBRE Investment Management teamed up for a €350 million ($405 million) affordable senior housing project… The Forest Road Company launched its energy transition investment arm CenterNode Group, which secured $750 million in commitments from Liberty Mutual Investments and other institutional investors… Novastar Ventures reached a $147 million final close for its third People and Planet Fund for climate and consumer startups in Africa.
Sustainable agriculture and food. Acumen backed Uganda-based Mountain Harvest to boost livelihoods for coffee farmers… Acumen also provided an impact-linked convertible note to Omia Agribusiness Development Group, a Ugandan agribusiness serving smallholder and refugee farmers… Kenya-based tilapia producer Victory Group secured $15 million from AgDevCo… New York-based Fortress Investment Group and Hong Kong-based Tor Investment Management provided $180 million for Pure Salmon’s first farm in Japan.
