Affordable housing. Arctaris Impact Investors invested $4.1 million in an 18-unit workforce housing development in Lima, Ohio, the first deal from a $25 million place-based initiative with the city and Lima/Allen County Chamber Foundation… Barka Capital participated in a $200,000 round for Laboratoires Adeba, an organic cosmetics company in Abidjan that sources ingredients from female farmers.
Agrifood investing. Conservation Resources made its first investment from its second farmland fund, acquiring a 155-acre kiwi and citrus farm in California… IDB Lab, the venture arm of the Inter-American Development Bank partnered with the University of Guyana to bring precision agriculture, AI and smart sensors to Guyanese farmers
Fund news. Working Capital Fund secured $31 million for its third supply chain resilience fund, anchored by Omidyar Group, Soros Economic Development Fund and Minderoo Foundation… Transition Ventures raised €128 million ($150 million) for its second fund, expanding its climate tech focus to AI infrastructure, energy and robotics… Generationship raised $2.7 million for its debut fund for tech companies founded by women and diverse founders… DCVC filed with the SEC to raise $500 million for its second Energy and Climate fund.
Green bonds. IDB Invest raised 100 million Swiss francs ($127 million) through an impact bond on the SIX Swiss Exchange for water management and marine conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Green infrastructure. NextEnergy Capital closed $974 million for its fifth flagship fund targeting utility-scale solar and battery storage… San Diego-based Maxwell Power secured $750 million from Fairtide Partners to finance battery storage and solar projects… Texture secured $12.5 million in a Series A led by VoLo Earth and Equal Ventures to build an energy operating system for electric utilities and grid service providers.
Healthy communities. SJF Ventures backed Binti with $6 million to upgrade child welfare casework software serving more than 550 agencies in the US… Acumen America invested in ThriveLink, a St. Louis developer of an AI-powered voice tool that helps people with low literacy apply for healthcare and social services.
Inclusive finance. IDB Invest approved a $10 million working capital facility for Sygnus Investment Bahamas for invoice-based financing to small businesses, and a $5 million guarantee to Occidental Bank to expand trade finance… IDB Invest also committed $30 million to Trinidad Tissues Limited to reduce Caribbean dependence on tissue imports.
Low-carbon transition. Galvanize pledged $75 million in preferred equity to Highland Electric Fleets, a one-stop electrification platform contracted to supply 500 electric buses for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics… Enduring Planet raised $12 million for lending to climate startups, backed by Blue Haven Initiative, Cisco Foundation and more than a dozen impact investors… BluePeak Private Capital provided a $16 million sustainability-linked loan to Groupe Centaures, an Ivorian logistics company, for emissions reduction.
Renewable energy. The European Investment Fund committed €200 million ($233 million) to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ second advanced bioenergy fund, a planned €1.5 billion vehicle for biomethane and biogas projects in Europe… Nuveen added $100 million to Budderfly’s debt facility to help commercial building owners make energy upgrades… Thea Energy, a Princeton stellarator fusion spinout, landed $100 million from Thomas Tull’s US Innovative Technology Fund and others… German laser fusion startup Focused Energy raised $240 million in a Series A led by RWE.Return on inclusion. Luzerner Pensionskasse announced it will increase its impact private equity allocation to 25% of its total private equity portfolio by 2028, up from 15%.
