Impact dealflow in Latin America: April 2026

Recent Impact deals in Latin America:

Affordable housing. IDB Invest invested in an 800 million Mexican pesos sustainable bond ($46 million) issued by Banco Inmobiliario Mexicano to construct low-income housing in Mexico. 

Climate finance. Global Innovation Lab announced eight startups from Brazil, the Philippines, Madagascar, and other emerging markets for its climate finance cohort… The European Investment Bank’s development finance arm committed $95 million to Atome’s green hydrogen plant in Paraguay.

Food systems. Sistema.bio’s financing vehicle FarmCarbon, which will help farmers acquire small-scale biodigesters, raised $53 million… Walton Family Foundation extended a partial loan guarantee to Banco de Crédito del Perú to support sustainable fisheries in Peru.

Financial inclusion. Gangkhar raised $4.3 million to embed insurance coverage in other services in Latin America. 

Fund news. Innogen Capital snagged $2.5 million for early-stage ventures in Central America… Mundi Ventures raised $100 million in the first close of its Latin America insurance fund. 

Investing in health. Meddi raised $7.8 million from GNP Seguros to expand its digital health platform and strengthen preventive care services in Mexico.

Gender smart. 2X Global’s Resilient Future Fund offered Positive Ventures a catalytic grant for a recycling project that focuses on female waste pickers in Latin America.  

Nature-based finance. The SA Impact Forestry Fund II, a joint fund by SilviPar and Astarte Capital Partners, raised $15 million from IDB Invest to restore degraded forests in southern Paraguay… IDB also committed $50 million in Ecuador’s first biodiversity-focused bond issued by Banco Bolivariano… 

Sustainable fashion. Impact-linked lender Beneficial Returns invested in two textile enterprises in Peru: Away Pallay and Cotton Nation… Sunna Ventures seeded BackChannel’s surplus fashion marketplace in Brazil.

Water and sanitation. Ecuador-based Impaqto Capital invested in Colombia-based water treatment company Zhana Solutions to support its expansion into Mexico.
