About this Role
The position of Impact and ESG Analyst at Community Investment Management entails playing a crucial role within the team based in Mexico City. The Analyst will be intimately involved in all facets of CIM’s impact and ESG management and reporting responsibilities. This role demands a person with a passion for large-scale impact, who can effectively manage projects and is comfortable operating autonomously within a cooperative, global framework. This position also includes extensive interaction with teams across various locations such as San Francisco, New York, and Bogota, contributing to the enhancement of CIM’s standing in impact investing. The successful candidate will have opportunities to travel, participate in direct company engagements, and involve themselves deeply in ESG monitoring. They will also contribute to the development and coordination of impactful content and investment memos, supporting CIM’s investment thesis with researched insights.
Responsibilities
- Manage impact processes in accordance with CIM’s impact and ESG policy.
- Coordinate impact & ESG monitoring via direct company engagement.
- Conduct research on new and existing product innovations in support of CIM’s investment thesis.
- Synthesize findings, contribute to investment memos, and make recommendations to the team.
- Develop and coordinate content pipeline.
- Work closely with teams in San Francisco, New York, Bogota, and other CIM locations on reporting, content, and stakeholder engagement.
- Travel occasionally to target markets, as well as to CIM head office in San Francisco or other offices.
Requirements
- Passionate about social impact, with a keen interest in emerging trends and best practices in impact measurement and management (IMM).
- 1-2 years of previous work experience, with a background in impact investment, inclusive fintech, and/or ESG management.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Experience completing projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Willingness to work in a small, fluid, ambitious, and highly collaborative global team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in English and Spanish with capability to create written content for publication; other languages are a plus.
- Optional: Technical skills to assist with data and reporting, including SQL/Python capabilities.
