About this Role

The Senior Policy Analyst, Energy Program at BPC is expected to contribute significantly to the development and promotion of energy policy initiatives. The primary focus will be on permitting reform, along with other pivotal energy topics. The role requires an ability to synthesize complex policy issues, engage with a variety of stakeholders, and advocate for evidence-based solutions. BPC’s Energy Program works with political leaders and policy experts to deliver insightful reports and actionable recommendations. The successful candidate will demonstrate versatility, capable of juggling multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and thorough analysis. There will be substantial interaction with diverse groups, including policymakers, senior fellows, and stakeholders from both the private and public sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on energy and environmental policy issues, emphasizing permitting reform.
  • Draft major written work products such as white papers, reports, and issue briefs.
  • Lead the research and writing of blogs and similar content.
  • Engage with stakeholders, senior fellows, project principals, and BPC task force members.
  • Support communications activities, including writing and editing collateral, and assisting with social media content.
  • Collaborate with BPC’s development team to draft grant proposals and manage donor relations.

Requirements

  • Strong policy background with expertise in the energy and environmental sectors.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4 years of work experience, or a relevant advanced degree with 1 year of experience.
  • Excellent quantitative, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with overlapping deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
